RECOGNISED QUALIFYING EVENTS
INTRODUCTION

1. COMMUNITY & NOT-FOR-PROFIT SUPPORT

Evolution recognises the essential role not-for-profit and community-run dance organisations play in strengthening grassroots arts communities.

Many community-run competitions reinvest directly into local venues, scholarships, and artistic development initiatives.

We are committed to respectful, participant-focused collaboration that supports sustainable industry growth and diverse performance opportunities for dancers nationwide.

2. RECOGNISED QUALIFYING EVENTS

Evolution National Finals welcomes qualified performers from selected independent dance competitions across Australia.

The following organisations are recognised qualifying events:

• Sunshine Coast Dance Eisteddfod (QLD)
• Launceston Festival of Dance (TAS)
• Starlight Festival of Dance (WA)
• South Australian Stage Dancing Society (SA)

• Bays School of Dance (NZ)

These independent competitions may offer qualification opportunities through their adjudication process.

Each organisation remains independently operated.

3. Qualification Conditions

• Qualification allocations are maximum limits and not guaranteed minimums
• Invitations are routine-specific and may not be transferred, shared, split, or combined
• Cross-category upgrades are not permitted
• One invitation permits entry of the qualifying routine plus one additional routine of the same category type
• Standard registration and entry fees apply
• Maximum solo entry limits (8 per performer) remain applicable
• Additional routines must qualify via participation in an Evolution Regional event or through the Evolution Online Video Qualifier

4. Priority & Capacity

• Evolution Regional qualifiers retain priority in the event of Finals capacity limitations
• Presentation of a Qualifying Invitation does not guarantee acceptance if entry deadlines or capacity limits are exceeded
• All Evolution National Finals Terms & Conditions apply

5. Evolution Credit Conditions

• Valid for the 2027 season only
• Not redeemable for cash
• Must be applied at time of registration
• Cannot exceed applicable entry fees
• Non-transferable outside the recognised event

6. Artistry Enhancement Conditions

• Valid for Solo and Duo/Trio entries only
• Not valid for Group entries
• Must be redeemed alongside a qualifying Nationals entry
• Valid for the 2027 season only
• Not redeemable for cash

7. Governance

• Recognised Qualifying Event status is reviewed annually
• Evolution reserves the right to amend allocation structures annually
• Participation in this framework does not create exclusivity or contractual partnership unless separately agreed
