Q: WHEN DO ENTRIES OPEN FOR YOUR 2026 SEASON?

A: Entry opening dates vary by city and event. We recommend checking our Regionals page regularly for the most up-to-date information.

Q: HOW MUCH ARE YOUR ENTRY FEES FOR REGIONALS in AUS & NZ?

A: Regional entry fees are as follows:

  • Solos: $55 AUD per routine

  • Duos / Trios: $65 AUD per routine

  • Groups: $75 AUD per routine

  • Competitor Pass: $40 AUD per studio performer (compulsory per event)

School Groups:
Performers entering School Group sections only are required to purchase a School Competitor Pass at $20 AUD per performer.

Important note:
If a performer is entering both School Group sections and Studio sections at the same event, the standard Studio Competitor Pass ($40) applies. The School Competitor Pass is only available for performers competing exclusively in School Group sections.

Q: HOW MUCH ARE YOUR ENTRY FEES FOR NATIONALS?

A: National Finals entry fees are released closer to the event once details are finalised.

Please refer to the National Finals section of the website for updates.

Q: Do I need a competitor pass?

A: Yes. Every performer must purchase one Competitor Pass per event.

  • Studio Competitor Pass: $40 per performer
    This pass covers all solos, duos/trios, and studio group performances for the performer at that event.

  • School Competitor Pass: $20 per performer
    This pass applies only to performers entering School Group sections exclusively.

Important note:
If a performer is entering both School Group sections and Studio sections at the same event, the Studio Competitor Pass ($40) applies.

The Competitor Pass provides access to event services and facilities for the performer throughout the event.

Q: WHAT DOES THE COMPETITOR PASS INCLUDE?

A: The Competitor Pass provides performers with access to all essential services and support required to participate in the event.

Each Competitor Pass includes:

  • Participation in all entered solos, duos/trios, and group sections for that event

  • Free spectator entry for family and friends

  • Access to the digital event program

  • Professional audio and/or video critiques uploaded post-event

  • Support from a dedicated Backstage Manager

  • Support from a dedicated Sound Technician

  • Onsite assistance from our Front of House and Event Management team

  • Access to a professionally run, fully staffed competition environment

The Competitor Pass helps ensure a smooth, well-supported, and positive experience for performers throughout the event.

Q: HOW MANY SOLOS CAN I ENTER AT A REGIONAL?

A: Each performer may enter a maximum of five (5) solo routines per Regional event.

Q: HOW MANY SOLOS CAN I ENTER AT NATIONALS?

A: Performers may enter:

  • All solo routines they qualified with at Regionals, plus

  • Up to three (3) additional solo routines that did not perform at Regionals

EVO Elite and EVO Apprentice entries are additional and not included in this total.

Q: DO YOU HAVE RESTRICTED/NOVICE SECTIONS?

A: Yes. Evolution offers Novice and Open sections at Regional events.

Eligibility and conditions for Novice entries are outlined in detail in the Syllabus, which forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

Q: What day will my child perform? WHat is an Age Schedule and when will
it be released?

A: Performance days cannot be confirmed until an event is close to capacity.

Once an event reaches approximately 80% capacity (or sells out), an Age Schedule will be released showing which age groups are

performing on which days.

An Age Schedule is a general guide outlining which age groups are scheduled to perform on each day of the event.

Please note that this is not a detailed timetable and is released prior to the draft program.

Q: What does 'Waitlist' mean?

A: If an event is full, you may join the waitlist via our website. If a position becomes available, we will contact waitlisted entrants in order.

Q: When will the programme be released?

  • A draft program is usually released approximately three (3) weeks prior to the event

  • A final program is released approximately one (1) week prior

Once the final program is released, no further changes can be made.

Q: I did not receive the programme. 

A: Our program is now fully digital, and can be accessed via the Event App. If in doubt, please contact us contact@evolutiondancecomp.com

Q: Where can I upload music?

A: Music is uploaded via the performer’s profile in the Event App.

You may update or replace your music up to 4 hours prior to the performance. We strongly recommend bringing a backup copy on the day.

Q: My child can no longer perform. Am I able to request a refund?

A: Refunds are not offered for change of mind.

In the event of an injury, a refund may be considered at the discretion of the Competition Director. Full details are outlined in the Terms & Conditions / Handbook

Q: What is EVO Elite?

A:  EVO Elite is a championship category held at National Finals.

The Top 10 highest-scoring Open soloists in each age category across the season are eligible to enter EVO Elite at National Finals.

Performers may present their strongest routine, and repeat routines are permitted even if the routine is also entered in its style category at Finals.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A MEDIA COMPANY TAKING PHOTO AND VIDEOS?

A:  Yes. Evolution’s official media partner is DanceVision.tv.

​

DanceVision.tv photographs and videos all performances, with media available for purchase during or after the event.

Q: WHERE and when ARE YOUR NATIONAL FINALS HELD?

A: Evolution National Finals are held at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, typically in early January each year.

Q: DO YOU HAVE ACCOMODATION ONSITE FOR NATIONAL FINALS?

A: Yes. Onsite accommodation is available at RACV Royal Pines Resort.

Once accommodation bookings open, a booking link will be released. All accommodation enquiries should be directed to the resort directly.
