WELCOME TO EVOLUTION

SOLOS, DUOS & TRIOS - A PARENT INTRODUCTION

1. who we are

Evolution Dance Competition was created to offer a calm, professional and positive competition experience for dancers of all levels.

Our focus is not just on results - but on:

  • growth

  • confidence

  • wellbeing

  • artistry

  • fair and transparent judging

Whether this is your child’s first competition or they are an experienced performer, Evolution is designed to feel supportive, organised and respectful.

2. WHAT TO EXPECT AT EVOLUTION

At Evolution, solos, duos and trios are given space to shine in a structured and well-run environment.

You can expect:

  • clear scheduling and communication

  • professional adjudicators who provide constructive feedback

  • age-appropriate content and expectations

  • a calm backstage environment with dedicated staff

  • video/audio critiques so dancers can learn and improve

We aim to remove unnecessary pressure and allow dancers to enjoy performing while still being challenged appropriately.

3. COMPETITION LEVElS EXPLAINED

Evolution offers Novice and Open sections for solos.

  • Novice is designed for dancers who are newer to competing or building confidence.

  • Open is for more experienced or advanced performers.

(Eligibility rules apply and are explained in our Terms & Conditions.)

For some events, Championship sections may also be offered. These are optional additional sections designed to celebrate strong performances across specific styles.

4. our values

At Evolution, we believe:

  • every dancer deserves respect

  • progress matters just as much as placement

  • competitions should feel inspiring, not overwhelming

  • feedback should help dancers grow, not discourage them

We do not publish scores publicly, and we work hard to maintain a positive culture for dancers, parents and teachers alike.
