Q: How many Solos can I enter at a Regional?

A: We have a five (5) max SOLO limit per performer per Regional Event

Q: When do entries open for your 2022 season?

A: Early bird Groups will open on or around 1st February 2022 (Groups only). All other cities have specific opening dates, which can be found under 'Regionals' on the website. Some opening dates MAY be delayed (due to border constraints).

Q: How much are your entry fees for Regionals?

A: Solos - $45 each routine | Duos/Trios - $55 each routine | Groups - $65 each routine | Competitor Pass - $30 each performer (compulsory per event)

Q: How many routines can I enter at Nationals?

A: You can enter all of the routines you qualified with at Regionals PLUS 3 extra routines that did not perform. Eg, if you performed and qualified 3 routines at Regionals, you can bring a total of 6 to finals. This also applies to Duos/Trios and Groups.

Q: Will I get a refund relating to COVID19?

A: Full refunds will be given to those affected by Border closures, but subject to Director’s discretion • The Performer must provide us with a Positive PCR Test, officiated by a government body such as Queensland Health, etc, to be eligible for a refund. We will NOT accept a positive Rapid Antigen Test • Change of mind i.e. deciding not to attend the event due to outbreaks of Covid, will NOT be refunded • Close contacts will NOT be refunded

Q: How much are your entry fees for National Finals?

Q: Do you have restricted/novice sections?

A: Yes we do! This is a NEW addition to Evolution in 2022! Please refer to our Syllabus for all information relating to 'Restricted Sections'.

Q: What is EVO Elite?

A: EVO Elites are announced at the end of each age group at a Regional event. It consists of the TOP 10 Highest Scoring Performers for each age group, for each event. Only these performers can enter the EVO Elite category at our National Finals.

Q: Where are your National Finals held? What are the dates?

A: Our National Finals are held at the beautiful RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast. Dates are to be confirmed very shortly, but looking at early January 2023.

Q: Do you have accommodation onsite for National Finals?

A: Yes we do! As soon as the venue has been reconfirmed (should be early February 2022), we will release a booking link for those who wish to stay onsite for the duration of National Finals. The early bird discount is a very good rate and is generally only available until the end of May 2022, so we strongly suggest booking your approx dates for Finals simply to reserve the awesome rate! Q: What day will my child be performing?

A: We will not know which age groups will be performing on each day until the event is at least 70% capacity or sold out. This is when we will release an Age Schedule.

Q: What is an Age Schedule and when will it be released?

A: An age schedule is a break down of what age groups will be on each day at the Regional or Finals Event. Once the event is at least 70% capacity (or sold out) we can release an age schedule for the event. This is roughly 6 weeks prior to the event but earlier if possible.

Q: When will the draft programme be sent?

A: We aim to have the draft programme released 3 weeks prior to the event with the final programme sent 2 weeks prior to the event.

Q: I did not receive the programme. What do I do?

A: Our program is now fully digital, and can be accessed via the Performers Portal (where you registered for Evolution). If in doubt, please contact us contact@evolutiondancecomp.com

Q: Do I need a competitor pass? What does it cover?

A: Each performer MUST purchase 1 x Competitor Pass for each event entered. A Competitor Pass covers all solos, duos/trios, and groups for the performer at the event. It covers free door entry for spectators, digital program, a dedicated Backstage Manager, a dedicated Sound Technician, a dedicated Front of House team, and a dedicated Office Events Co-Coordinator.

Q: My child can no longer perform. Am I able to request a refund?

A: Whilst we do not offer refunds for change of mind, we can arrange a refund if your child is injured or sick, however, there are a few terms and conditions. • You must notify us no later than 2 weeks PRIOR to the event taking place • We will require a doctors/medical certificate • We will only be able to refund if someone on our waitlist can replace you • If we can refund you an administration fee of $30 will be deducted

Q: Where can I upload music?

A: All music is now uploaded via the Performers Portal (where you registered to enter Evolution). You can upload music at any time (you do not need to wait for a program). If you upload your music 1 month before the event (as an example), and then make a change to the music, you can simply re-upload and it automatically overwrites the original file. You can also play the song back to ensure it is the correct version.

Q: Do you have a media company taking photos and videos?

A: Yes we do. Our media partner is Dancevision.TV and they attend every Evolution event. They automatically photograph and video every performance on stage, so you can order at the event or afterwards online.

Q: What does it mean when we 'Waitlist' an event?

A: It means that our event has sold out, however, we have a wait list you can join in case anyone withdraws before the event. It is important you complete the wait list as soon as the event sells out, as you join the queue in number order. If any spaces become available, we will contact you directly.
